Derick's Ear Been Stitched

This photo was taken with my 1.3 M Samsung Handphone.

My Dear Son fell down last Sunday nite around 10 pm. After playing with pals at the playground, he wanted to step over a small drain, but lose his balance thus fell down to his left hand side straightly into the drain. The sharp edge of the drain cut his left ear badly.

My heart was very painful while watching him fell down with his eyes still staring at me. From his eyes I can tell that he was asking me at that moment, Mommy, what happened? Please help me! But I was a bit far from him, my poor boy just fell down into the drain helplessly. His daddy was standing behind him, but also got no chance to save him since the accident occured in a sudden.

I was so panic hence didn't dare to check what happened to Der, since I was scared that I couldn't accept the sad fact. It shocked me that Der was bleeding a lot. All the fresh blood stained on his Popeye T'shirt but there was no sign that bleeding would stop soon. Q said, Ohhh... we have to bring him to the hospital. OMG... Immidiately I realised that his ear was seriously hurt which need to be stitched.

We rushed him to NUH. But due to the lousy service at NUH and long waiting, we switched to Gleaneagles later on. All the works (consultation, preparement, stitching) were quickly done within 1.5 hours. It enabled us to be back home exhaustly at 12.30 am.

My poor boy was crying very loudly while the doctor injected the anesthesist in order to stitch his left ear. I was just standing in front of Der's face, holding his hands tightly but almost fainted either. It was very traumatic experience to see the blood flowing out from Der's ear accompanied with his hysterical cry. At that time I felt such a big failure to be a helpless mother.
